Saltwater

He strode along the body

He liked to call paradise

With the eyes of a child

Who saw a vast stretch of turquoise

For the first time.

With all her splendour

She enticed the gullible one,

While others resisted the temptation

Her presence caused

By seeing none.

Fragile creatures of her organisation

Ran away from danger,

Hid behind their shells,

And stole a look

When the frisky dogs stopped chasing them.

He met her on a sinister night,

To relive a lucid dream,

To hear the flapping of her fierce wings.

Something was terrifying about her…

During hours of darkness,

Fluoresced and solaced,

Growing impassioned,

She was merciless.

The more he saw her,

The thirstier he felt,

Until one day,

When he decided to submit to her bed.
